Wellington State Park Title

While the park facilities are closed for the season, the park lands are always open for recreation.

The main gate to the park remains open. The gate to the day-use area is open 8:30am-8pm through fall.

Please be reminded that no comfort stations are available and all items (including trash) must be carried out with you when you leave.

Should an emergency arise during your visit, please call 911 for assistance.

Some of the best swimming in the White Mountain region can be found in 140-acre White Lake State Park in Tamworth. The park lies along the shore of White Lake, which is an example of a typical glacial lake. During the Ice Age, glacial ice was buried beneath glacial till or debris. When the ice melted, a depression was created which gradually filled with water.
 
Guests are welcome to enjoy a leisurely walk around the lake on a well-maintained foot path while looking for loons or signs of beaver activity, or to try their hand at the good trout fishing the lake provides.
