The forest management project south of the Parker Trail is in progress. The woods road has been improved, and logging activitiesParking-Area.png are in motion. To access Route 124, logging trucks are utilizing a brief stretch of the old toll road. Visitors are advised to park in the assigned lot until trucking operations conclude.

Group openings ranging from half to two acres are being established to emulate minor natural disturbances in the forest. This fosters the growth of diverse herbaceous plants and treGroup-Opening.jpge saplings, enabling young trees to thrive with ample sunlight, air, and space, enriching the forest ecosystem. It's crucial to recognize that although these forest management actions may temporarily alter the visual landscape, they enhance long-term forest resilience amidst a changing climate. Additionally, they provide essential habitat elements for the numerous wildlife species inhabiting this area.
